Sheepswool insulation

roof-insulation.jpg Today our sheepswool came from the Black Mountain Insulation company in Wales. We are using 2 layers of 75mm thick sheeps wool insulation under the sedum roof to get a similar U value as 100mm of conventional insulation such as Celotex or Kingspan.

We are a timber frame company based in Devon and we are looking at sheeps wool for a large development of housing units. Please could some make contact.

    Hi John,

Sheeps wool works out at about 50% more expensive than traditional materials such as Cellotex. However, the labour side is probably a little quicker, with no cutting if you get the roll width to suit your truss spacing etc and is very easy and absolutely no health risk to work with. Call me on the number I have e-mailed you if you wish.
